PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer that can transfer a plurality of file data to another computer via a browser while maintaining a directory structure. SOLUTION: A client device 2 generates compressed file data into which a plurality of file data stored therein having a directory hierarchy structure are compressed as maintaining the directory hierarchy structure, and uploads it to a server device 6 by means of a WWW browser. The server device 6 automatically decompresses the received compressed file data, and writes the plurality of file data to a predetermined directory while maintaining the directory hierarchy structure.
