PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy and low-cost vortex flowmeter calculating the flow rate of a measuring fluid from alternating signals generated by Karman vortex. SOLUTION: The vortex flowmeter comprises: a sensor for detecting the alternating signals generated by Karman vortex; an analog/digital converter for converting the alternating signals from analog to digital; a frequency analyzer means for analyzing the frequency zone of the output of the analog/digital converter and producing digital data; and a microprocessor calculating the flow rate of the measuring fluid from the digital data.
