PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition for obtaining rubber products with high mechanical strength and excellent dynamic mechanical properties, and to provide a simple method for producing the rubber composition. SOLUTION: The rubber composition is obtained by coagulating with an acid or salt a compounded latex comprising an epoxidized natural rubber with an epoxidation rate of preferably 3-70 mol% and water-glass. This rubber composition thus obtained contains preferably 1-50 pt(s).wt., in terms of SiO<SB>2</SB>, of a silicic acid component(silica) formed from the water-glass, based on 100 pts.wt. of the epoxidized natural rubber. Thereby, this rubber composition can be molded into rubber products with high mechanical strength and excellent dynamic mechanical properties.
