PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline detergent for an automatic analyzer suppressing a decrease of a cloud point of the detergent found when an alkaline solution is formulated with a surfactant and having high detergency. SOLUTION: The alkaline detergent for the automatic analyzer is composed of the alkaline solution. Furthermore, the alkaline solution comprises a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether as a nonionic surfactant and an organic solvent for regulating the cloud point such as a 1-3C primary alcohol and a secondary alcohol.
