PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply, promptly, correctly and automatically detect the positional accuracy of a bead setting ring in timing according to necessity without making an operator approach a device and without stopping the device. SOLUTION: In a method for detecting the positional accuracy of the bead setting ring 8 which is composed of a plurality of segments 9 capable of expanding, contracting, and displacing, holds an annular bead core 14, and positions/arranges the bead core 14 at a prescribed position in the axial direction of a molding drum 1, in advance of the positioning/arrangement of the bead core 14 held by the bead setting ring 8 at the prescribed position in the axial direction of the tire molding drum 1, the relative positions in the drum axis direction and the radial positions from the drum axis of the segments 9 are detected, respectively.
