PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a studying desk with a top-placing shelf placed on top of a top panel in a detachable manner which allows choosing layout of the space on the top panel (the size, position, etc. of the space) in accordance with a monitor, etc. even the top-placing shelf is placed on the top panel. SOLUTION: The studying desk with the top-placing shelf placed at the rear section of the top panel of the desk in a detachable manner is composed of a partition panel that is movable in the longitudinal direction against a back board of the top-placing shelf and is installed at a specified interval between the bottom end surface and the top panel, segment shelf section that connects the bottom end of the partition panel with one of the side panels of the top-placing shelf in a detachable manner, and a bottom shelf panel installed between the partition panel and the other one of the side panels of the top-placing shelf in a detachable manner.
