PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a massage mechanism which allows a user to adjust easily the degree of engagement of tooth surfaces in a worm wheel mechanism that drives a rotary shaft for massage movement, and also to provide a massage machine equipped with the same. SOLUTION: The massage mechanism comprises a massage shaft 20 that makes an arm holding a treating element to perform a massage movement, a bearing 34 for supporting the massage shaft 20 rotatably, a worm wheel 25 arranged coaxially with the massage shaft 20, a worm 26 for driving the worm wheel 25, and a casing 32 for receiving the worm 26 and the worm wheel 25. The casing 32 has a bearing cover 36 that holds, with its inner surface, the bearing 34 supporting the massage shaft 20. The bearing cover 36 is rotatable centering the axial direction of the massage shaft 20, and the rotation center o of the bearing cover 36 is decentered in a predetermined amount in the axial direction of the worm 26 with respect to the axis g of the bearing 34.
