The invention relates to a portable instrument and a method for measuring the concentration of gases. More specifically, the invention relates to a sensor for measuring an analyte in a medium.In particular, the invention relates to an instrument which is based on attenuation of phosphorescence by the analyte in atmospheric gases with a recalibration and temperature compensation system with a single point. The inventive instrument is very compact, with a reduced number of optoelectronic components which are better aligned, and offers greater efficiency in the gathering and processing of information, thereby rendering same a highly-reliable, portable and low-cost device.
