A method for controlling operation of a cooling fan is provided to prevent noise caused due to unnecessary operation of a cooling fan and consumption of battery, by operating the cooling fan in accordance with engine information. A method for controlling operation of a cooling fan, comprises a step(S10,S20) of checking a time variation between the present ACC on time and the final ACC off time; a step(S30) of comparing the time variation with a first preset time; a step(S40,S50) of acquiring a coolant temperature sensor value and an intake air sensor value, and calculating a variation and an average value if the time variation is higher than the first preset time, and checking whether the variation is lower than a first preset value and the average value is higher than a second preset value; and a step(S60,S70) of operating a cooling fan if the variation is lower than the first preset value and the average value is higher than the second preset value, and judging whether the time elapsed from the ACC on time has lapsed a second preset time at the state where the intake air sensor value is higher than a third preset value, if the deviation is not lower than the first preset value and the average value is not higher than the second preset value, and operating the cooling fan if the time elapsed from the ACC on time has lapsed the second preset time. |
