<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct methanol fuel cell system capable of preventing inhibition of a stable operation of a system without causing pole changing due to fuel shortage. <P>SOLUTION: The direct methanol fuel cell system is provided with a fuel cell main body 1 equipped with proton-conductive polymer solid electrolyte 4, a pair of air electrode 5 and a fuel electrode 3 arranged at either side, and a fuel tank 2 storing liquid fuel to be supplied to the fuel electrode 3. A cell stack 100 is made by laminating in insulation a power generating part 10 laminating a plurality of the fuel cell main bodies 1 and a monitor cell 20 of the same structure as the fuel cell main body 1, and, with the fuel electrodes in the cell stack 100 arranged to be dipped in the liquid fuel inside the fuel tank 2, is endowed with a function of carrying out an operation control based on an approximation formula relating an open-circuit voltage of the monitor cell 20, density of the liquid fuel, and an air flow supplied to the air electrodes of the cell stack. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
