<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle peripheral information providing device for suppressing a misrecognition of a surrounding condition of a user due to failure of a sensor. <P>SOLUTION: Besides registering the existence of failure to an alarm type affected by a failure of a sensor, an alarm failure computing part 3 outputs voice for warning the occurrence of a malfunction due to the failure of the sensor with respect to an alarm type, if failure of the sensor newly occurs. An alarm generation part 8 determines whether or not a peripheral condition of own vehicle is under a condition requiring the output of an alarm to an alarm type on the basis of each sensor information output by a sensor information processing part 6. When under the condition requiring the output of an alarm, the voice for indicating the alarm to an alarm type is output to an alarm output control part 12.
