<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a functional element comprising a functional layer in which the difference in thickness between the center part and the end part in the formed functional layer is on such a level that does not cause inconvenience such as uneven color tone, and to provide an apparatus for producing the functional element. <P>SOLUTION: The process for producing a functional element comprises a drying step of, after coating a solvent-containing coating liquid for functional layer formation onto a base material, drying the coating for solidification. The process is characterized in that, in order to realize flatness of a functional layer formed, the shape of the previously formed functional layer is inspected, and the volatilization speed of the solvent in the drying step is controlled so that, when the center part is in a convex form, the volatilization speed of the solvent is increased, while, when the center part is in a concave form, the volatilization speed of the solvent is decreased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
