PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem on impairing of performance of a noise filter circuit caused by reduction of capacity of Y-condensers (condenser between line and earth) caused by temperature rise of the noise filter circuit. SOLUTION: This air conditioner is composed of the noise filter circuit 2 connected between an AC power source 1 and a bridge rectification circuit 3, a smooth condenser 4, an inverter portion 5, a compressor 6, a common mode choke coil 7, X-condensers 8, 9 (condenser between line and line), the Y-condensers 10, 11, 12, 13, additional Y-condensers 15, 16, 17, 18 connected with the earth 14 from the common mode choke coil through switches 19, 20, an outdoor air temperature sensor 21, a current detecting circuit 23, and a control portion 22 for estimating an atmospheric temperature of the noise filter circuit on the basis of outputs of the outdoor air temperature sensor 21 and the current detecting circuit 23, and controlling the switches 19, 20. The reduction of capacity of Y-condensers is detected from the atmospheric temperature, and the switches are turned on, thus the additional Y-condensers are connected in parallel to compensate the reduction of capacity, and the impairing of performance of the noise filter circuit 2 can be prevented.
