PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a pair of socks with which each of the 5 toe bags exactly fits the toes or appropriate wearing pressure can be applied thereto. SOLUTION: The method for producing the pair of socks comprises knitting each sock body and a tiptoe part with a knitting yarn or the knitting yarn and an elastic yarn. In the method, each of the 5 toe bags (20A to 20E) for inserting the 5 toes is knitted in the tiptoe part (20) with a circular knitting machine. In the process, a pattern for decreasing the number of knitting needles and then increasing the number thereof or increasing the number and then decreasing the number in the knitting direction is repeated. Thereby, each of the 5 toe bags is knitted into a flat shape resembling the flat shape of each toe. Each of the 5 toe bags can be knitted into an optional flat shape with optional mesh roughness to provide each of the 5 toe bags with knit construction for applying the optional wearing pressure to the toes.
