PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat slide device capable of reducing the height dimension of an upper rail. SOLUTION: The seat slide device 1 is provided with a lower rail 11 having an upwardly opened opening 11b and fixed to a floor 3 of the vehicle; an upper rail 12 slidably supported on the lower rail 11 through the opening 11b and retaining a seat 2 of the vehicle; a screw member 13 provided between the upper rail 12 and the lower rail 11 and extending in a slide direction of the upper rail 12; a nut member 14 fixed to the lower rail 11 and thread-engaged with the screw member 13; a closure member 15 having an upper wall 15a closing the opening 11b and fixed to the lower rail 11; and a drive mechanism 16 for rotating the screw member 13 relative to the nut member 14 by drive force so as to slide the upper rail 12 relative to the lower rail 11.
