PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grind a workpiece with high accuracy of form by controlling the rotating speed around the axis of the work in every rotational phase to prevent escape of the workpiece due to grinding resistance. SOLUTION: A part to be machined of the workpiece is preliminarily ground, and a form error in every measuring phase of the part to be machined of the workpiece after preliminary grinding is measured. According to the form error, the control data is created, in which the workpiece rotating speed in the rotational phase is set so that the rotating speed of the workpiece is made lower in the unground part, and the rotating speed thereof is made higher in the excessive ground part, and according to the control data, the rotating speed of the workpiece is controlled to grind the workpiece.
