PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope apparatus which can prevent a CPU from repeating restarting even if a watch dock timer with a time-out duration shorter than the starting time of the CPU is used. SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope apparatus comprises a CPU 11 outputting a first pulse signal when operated normally, an watch dock clear signal generating section 13 generating a second pulse signal, a watch dock control section 14 outputting either the first pulse signal or the second pulse signal as an abnormal observation signal from the detection result of activation completion of the CPU 11, and a watch dock timer IC2 outputting a reset signal after detecting an abnormality of the CPU 11 from the abnormal observation signal.
