IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND INVERTING AND TRANSPORTING UNIT USED THEREIN

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with easy upgrading from a monochrome image forming apparatus to a color image forming apparatus and furthermore with easy both sides correspondence.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with an image forming unit 1 including an image forming engine 5 and forming an image on recording material 6 by the image forming engine 5 and an inverting and transporting unit 3 provided to be removable to the image forming unit 1 and transporting a reversed recording medium 6 to an image forming position of the image forming engine 5 again. The image forming unit 1 is composed of dividing image forming units 2 (2a to 2c) which can be divided into a plurality of units and the inverting and transporting unit 3 is provided with dividing reversal transporting units 4 (4a to 4c) which can be divided in correspondence to each dividing image forming unit 2 (2a to 2c).
