<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress degradation in exhaust emission when executing regeneration control for regenerating the exhaust emission control capability of an exhaust emission control device provided in an exhaust passage in an exhaust emission control system for an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: A rate of a temperature change of inflow exhaust when starting regeneration control is calculated. When the rate of the temperature change is a negative value and comparatively low, the quantity of a reducing agent supplied to a catalyst in the initial phase of regeneration control is set smaller in comparison with the case that the rate of the temperature change is comparatively high. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
