PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode material enhancing charge discharge efficiency, to provide a battery using it, and to provide the manufacturing method of the positive electrode material.

SOLUTION: The battery has a wound electrode body 30 formed by winding a positive electrode 31 and a negative electrode 32 through a separator 33. The positive electrode 31 contains the positive electrode material having lithium composite compound particles and a covering layer formed by a barrel sputtering method and covering the lithium composite compound particles. The stability of the positive electrode is improved, and especially high effect can be obtained when open circuit voltage in full charge is set high.
