PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator with a selective chamber having user-friendly layout and improved preserving performance. SOLUTION: A ultraviolet LED light source 13 is installed in a storage chamber partitioned with heat insulation and having a function of control into selected one of a plurality of preset temperatures for inactivating the propagating function of microorganism deposited on the wall face in the storage chamber or the surfaces of stored objects. Thus, the selective chamber is kept sanitary, and discoloration or putrefactive smell produced by the microorganism in foods and occurrence of tackiness produced on the surfaces of the stored objects can be delayed.
