PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately inform decline in an oil level by solving a problem that the oil level is susceptible to transient fluctuation, and to easily process wiring extending from a switch by solving a problem that processing of the wiring extending from the switch becomes complicated. SOLUTION: In an engine (internal combustion engine) 10 having an oil scooping-up piece 69 scooping up oil 12 reserved inside an oil reservoir chamber 68 of the engine 10 to lubricate the oil and an oil level detection device 50 detecting an oil level L reserved inside the oil reservoir chamber 68, the oil level detection device 50 comprises a float 82 floating on the oil 12, the switch 145 operated by the float 82 and a housing 81 housing the float 82 and the switch 145. A communication hole 136 communicated with an opposing side of the oil scooping-up piece 69 to the traveling direction in the vicinity of the float 82 is provided in the housing 81.
