摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arc suppression system for a booster section and a method with easy maintenance capable of being constituted at low cost without using a switch such as an expensive thyristor with high insulation grade as in a conventional one, being not failed over a long period of time and capable of preventing generation of arc. SOLUTION: The arc suppression system for the booster section is an arc suppression system for preventing generation of arc between pantograph of an electric vehicle and a trolley wire in BT section having a suction transformer in which a secondary side is interposed on a return feeder and a primary side is interposed on the trolley wire. The system has a switch element provided between the secondary side terminals of the suction transformer; a winding wire for measuring a voltage magnetically bonded to the primary side and the secondary side; a voltage measurement part for measuring induced electro-motive force generated on the winding wire for measuring the voltage by electro-magnetic induction from the primary side or the secondary side and outputting the measured voltage value; and an opening/closing control part for performing on/off control of the switch element based on the measured voltage value.
