PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a supporting layer of a tape supporting layer adhering to the supporting layer through an adhesive can hardly be released from an image receiving layer, in a tape holding case for a thermal printer. SOLUTION: A tape 14 has the image receiving layer and the supporting layer, and the tape holding case is structured as follows: the outside wall part arranged adjacent to an outlet O has a groove hole 24 with a rectangular crosssection. The groove hole 24 has an opening which is arranged adjacent to the surface of an image receiving tape 14, extending across the width of the tape 14, and is positioned so as to accept a cutting blade 30 for cutting the overall thickness of the image receiving layer and the supporting layer in order to cut an image receiving tape 12. In addition, the outside wall part has a stepped part 36, capable of bending the tape 14 during cutting, which is provided to the side of the groove hole 24 apart from the outlet O, in order to support the surface of the image receiving tape 14 while the cutting blade 30 cuts the image receiving tape 14.
