PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a kitchen counter having a built-in illuminant to be dispensed with an illuminator cover member, easy-care and also inexpensive in manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The kitchen counter comprises an illumination device 4 composed of a light-emitting part 41 made of a transparent member and a light projecting part 42 capable of lighting up the light-emitting part 41, which is embedded in a recess 22a formed on the back guard 22 of a counter and at least a part of which is exposed from the recess 22a to illuminate the surface of the counter.
