A base jaw (6) and a top jaw (12) of an implement clamping system (2), which can be plugged into each other and which comprise engaging surfaces (28, 30) configured together into cuneal manner and limiting the depth of penetration between the two jaws (6, 12). The wedge angle is at least 85° or more, but at most 140°, thereby substantially avoiding jamming the engaging surfaces (28, 30) while nevertheless the top jaws (12) are held in place in all directions by the base jaws (6).
