<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical instrument especially suitable for use under an endoscope. <P>SOLUTION: The surgical stapler/cutting instrument 10 has a proximal part to be operated outside a patient for positioning a slender shaft 16 and an end effector 42 at desired operation positions inside the patient. The end effector is pivotally attached to the slender shaft by an articular motion joint, so that more clinical flexibility can be applied when the equipment reaches a tissue at a desired angle. A closure tube assembly has a multi-rotary part prevailing over the articular motion joint to close the end effector by advancing parallel to the distal side and further to pass the joint connecting shaft. With this structure, the additional clinical flexibility in positioning the end effector can be achieved without losing separate functions of closing motion and igniting motion transmitted by the shaft. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
