<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for a printing ink varnish, suitably applicable to both a sheet-feed ink and a web offset ink, to provide a printing ink varnish using the composition and to provide a printing ink using the varnish. <P>SOLUTION: The resin composition for a printing ink varnish is obtained by reacting (A) a rosin ester resin prepared by esterifying a resin which may be acid-modified with a polyhydric alcohol, and (B) a resol type phenol resin in (C) a reaction solvent containing (c)≥70 wt.% drying oil and/or semi-drying oil at 160-240°C. The varnish is prepared by mixing the composition with (D) a hydrocarbon-based solvent. The printing ink contains the varnish and a pigment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
