PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress tailing caused when partial display is performed with low power consumption. SOLUTION: A partial display control circuit 10, a display control circuit 21, a scanning signal line driving circuit 22, and a data line driving circuit 23 function as a driving circuit of a liquid crystal panel 30. When a liquid crystal panel 30 which is a normally white type is used, the driving circuit drives display elements arranged in a starting line among display elements outside a display area so that they are seen in white, and does not drive display elements arranged in second and succeeding lines. Further, the driving circuit periodically performs driving processing so that all the display elements outside the display area are seen in white in partial display mode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
