PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the paper feeding accuracy not lowered caused by a paper discharging roller on a cutter device side in cases where printing is performed in a pre-cut form of paper with a cutter device mounted on a recording apparatus. SOLUTION: An automatic cutter 2 is equipped with a paper guide 51 which guides printing paper inside the device, a cutter carriage 53 movable back and forth in the paper width direction, a rotary blade 55 which cuts the printing paper in a cutting plate 52 and a paper-discharge drive roller 56 and a paper-discharge driven roller 57 which discharge the cut printing paper. The paper-discharge drive roller 56 is powered from a printer body by means of many gears. On the printer side, the paper-discharge driven roller 57 is made to be spaced apart from the paper-discharge drive roller 56 during print practice so that any conveyance force due to the turning of the paper-discharge drive roller 56 is prevented from being applied to the printing paper.
