A traffic guidance system for a new town is provided to reduce traffic accidents by displaying direction information both on a main signal lamp and a traffic signboard. A main signal lamp(10) is arranged on an intersection and includes stop, alarm, left-turn, and straight lamps. A right-turn signal lamp(20) is arranged on the intersection and includes stop and right-turn lamps. A traffic signboard(30) is arranged on the intersection and includes an intersection display unit, which displays the current position and direction guidance information. A guiding lamp(40) is mounted closely to the guidance information. An illumination sensor(60) detects external brightness. A controller(50) turns on/off the guiding lamp according to the external brightness. The left-turn lamps, the straight lamps, and right-turn lamps of the main signal lamp and the traffic signboard are simultaneously turned on. The controller displays the guidance information to the driver of a vehicle approaching the intersection. |
