<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head and neck cancer tumor marker which firstly can examine head and neck cancer without giving patients excessive burden for whether cancer really disappears after first treatment or additional treatment is necessary or not, secondly examine the cancer from the primary tumor tissue for whether the head and neck cancer has a possibility to metastasize or not, thirdly examine the cancer with high accuracy whether sentinel lymph node has micrometastasis of the head and neck cancer in the sentinel lymph node, and fourthly examine whether the cancer shows tolerance to radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the tumor tissue of the head and neck cancer. <P>SOLUTION: This first head and neck cancer tumor marker shows the existence of the head and neck cancer in any part of the whole body, the second tumor marker shows the lymph node metastasis of the head and neck cancer, the third tumor marker shows metastasis to the sentinel lymph node of the head and neck cancer, and the fourth tumor marker shows tolerance of the head and neck cancer to radiation chemotherapy. The tumor marker has a marker material of a transcriptional product of specific gene and its translation product. Accordingly, when the tumor marker is used, for example, the gene diagnosis of head and neck cancer is allowed. Furthermore, diagnostic accuracy is improved, appropriate treatment without uselessness is promoted and dramatic improvement of treatment results and QCL of patients after treatment is expected through using the tumor marker together with a conventional diagnostic method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
