PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery having high electric insulation capability and high sealing capability in a taking out part of lead wire and having high reliability and to provide the lead wire for it. SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte battery has such structure that a positive electrode 5, a negative electrode 5', and an electrolyte are housed in a sealing bag 3 made of a laminated film 14 containing metal foil, and conductors 1, 1' connected to the positive and negative electrodes are taken out to the outside. The conductors 1, 1' are bonded to the sealing bag 3 through an insulator 20, and the insulator 20 is comprised of an adhesive layer and a heat resistant layer comprising a cross-linked resin. A plurality of grooves or holes into which material same as the adhesive layer is filled are formed in the heat resistant layer. The insulator 20 is bonded to the sealing bag 3 with the heat resistant layer and the adhesive material filled in the grooves or the holes. Since the heat resistant layer does not melt at the heat-sealing temperature of the sealing bag 3, electric insulation between the conductors 1, 1' and the metal foil of the sealing bag 3 can be ensured.
