PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus, a recording method, a reproducing apparatus, a reproducing method, a program for the recording method, and a recording medium for recording the program for the recording method whereby a personal user can enjoy sound signals by a multichannel in a higher sense of presence than that of prior arts even when the methods or the like are applied to a video camera using, e.g. an optical DVD and the personal user uses the video camera or the like to record the sound signals by the multichannel. SOLUTION: The recording apparatus or the like disclosed herein varies characteristics of sound signals FRT, FL, FR, RL, RR, and LF by the multichannel in a manner being in matching with a video image of a video signal depending on a result of imaging.
