PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to set desired information for each cordless handset and to monitor the information on each cordless handset among a plurality of main body side operating state information in a facsimile apparatus. SOLUTION: In a facsimile apparatus, a main control section 13 controls operations of an image reading section 5 to a radio communication control section 9 so as to implement a plurality of functions such as a facsimile function, printer function, copy function, scanner function, cordless handset call function and the like. The facsimile apparatus comprises a setting function for enabling the user to selectively display, for each handset 3, an operating state of an apparatus body 2 (error occurrence of paper jam, machine error and the like, facsimile transmission/reception completion, message reception of automatic answering and the like). While the indication of error occurrence in the apparatus body 2 is set on the handset 3, for example, if any error occurs in the apparatus body 2, information thereof is transmitted to the handset 3 and displayed on a display part 304, so that the user can monitor the error occurrence on the handset 3.
