PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device and the like capable of enhancing inspection ability for an inspection object of high reflectance. SOLUTION: In this inspection device, a diffusion sheet 7 is mounted on a surface of a specular printed matter 17 of the inspection object to inspect it. The diffusion sheet 7 reflects irregularly reflected light from the printed matter 17 to increase luminous energy of the light advancing toward a line camera 3. The inspection ability is enhanced in the specular printed matter, since brightness of an inspection image gets high to increase image information of the specular printed matter, when the specular printed matter is inspected using the diffusion sheet.
