PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for a gasket having excellent sealability, gas-barrier property, and heat resistance (restorability after high temperature sterilization) and a gasket using the composition. SOLUTION: This thermoplastic elastomer composition for the gasket is characterized by comprising the following components (a), (b), and (c): (a) A block copolymer indicated by the general formula [(A-B)<SB>n</SB>] and/or [(A-B)<SB>n</SB>-A] and having a weight average molecular weight of 150 thousands to 1 million(b) A butene-based liquid polymer having a number average molecular weight of 700 to 3000(c) Olefinic resin.
