PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand guide roller capable of reducing misoperation in forward and reverse travel when housing a control lever, particularly when loading and unloading from a deck of a truck or the like. SOLUTION: The hand guide roller H comprises a forward/reverse switching mechanism 8 mounted to a traveling machine body 1 to switch the forward and reverse travel of the traveling machine body 1; the control lever 3 mounted to the rear part of the traveling machine body 1 and extended obliquely upward when in use while being erected almost vertically when housed; and a forward/reverse lever 6 mounted around the tip of the control lever 3 to operate the forward/reverse switching mechanism 8 through a control cable 7. An auxiliary forward/reverse lever 14 mechanically interlocked with the forward/reverse lever 6 and capable of operating the forward/reverse switching mechanism 8 is provided on the side face of the traveling machine body 1.
