PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing strontium carbonate particulates by a simpler method also suitable to industrial production. SOLUTION: The production method is characterized in that an aqueous solution of a water soluble strontium compound and alkali hydroxide are mixed, and carbon dioxide is introduced into the mixed solution. In the method, the following conditions are desirable, and, by adopting them, the particulates of strontium carbonate can be more efficiently produced: (1) the condition where, regarding the mixing ratio between the water soluble strontium compound and the alkali hydroxide, the ratio of the alkali hydroxide is controlled to 0.05 to 2 mol to 1 mol of the water soluble strontium compound; (2) the condition where the introduction rate of the carbon dioxide is controlled to≥0.5 L/min to 1 mol of strontium; (3) the condition where the solution temperature upon the introduction of the carbon dioxide is controlled to the range from a freezing point to 25°C; and (4) the condition where the introduction of the carbon dioxide is performed till the pH of the solution reaches≤11.
