PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow verification and confirmation whether or not an insertion tube of an endoscope is transnasally insertable into the body cavity while minimizing a pain of a subject. SOLUTION: This trial insertion device 10 used for verifying and confirming whether the insertion tube 2 of the endoscope is transnasally insertable into the body cavity or whether there is a constricted part where the insertion tube 2 cannot be inserted in a part of a route comprises a flexible shaft 11 for insertion and a grip operation part 12. The flexible shaft 11 has flexibility in the bending direction, its diameter is almost same to or thinner than that of the insertion tube 2 of the endoscope 1, its length dimension is sufficiently longer than the length from the external naris to the choana, and the distal end part 11a is formed into a projecting curved face shape and has a shape retaining property which is hardly compressively deformed.
