A data recording method of an optical disc device is provided to firstly perform an OPC(Optimum Power Calibration) operation at the NWA(Next Writable Address) of an optical disk, and then perform a recording operation starting from the NWA by using optimum recording power detected by the OPC operation. When an optical disc is inserted(S10) and recognized by a microprocessor, the microprocessor detects a real recording position on the basis of the information recorded in the optical disc(S11). Thereafter, when a recording operation is requested(S20), the microprocessor discriminates whether the real recording position is within the inner circumference constant area of the optical disc. If the real recording position is not within the inner circumference constant area of the optical disc, the microprocessor performs again an OPC(Optimum Power Calibration) operation and determines the OPC operation position within the data region(S21).
