<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to effectively inhibit damage of an electrolyte/electrode assembly, and to secure desired power collection characteristics by a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell 11 is provided with a pair of separators 28 pinching the electrolyte/electrode assembly 26. The separators 28 have a plurality of disc parts 36, and a plurality of protruding parts 48 to form a fuel gas passage 46 are installed at a face 36a of the respective disc parts 36. A deformable conductive mesh member 64 forming an oxidizer gas passage 62 and tightly adhered to the cathode electrode 22 is installed at a face 36b of the disc parts 36.
