<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems, such as a transmission error in image data feared when separating a scanner, and unnecessary electromagnetic waves. <P>SOLUTION: A data transmission unit transmits data from a unit at a data transmission side to that at a data reception side, integrates an output data conversion means (an electric/light conversion device) 31, for converting the data to a format suitable for transmission; an input data conversion means (a light/electric conversion device) 32 for restoring the transmitted data to a format suitable for the processing of a poststage, and a transmission means 33 including a transmission line for transmitting the data. An LVDS 20 converts parallel data to low-voltage differential serial data, and is provided in the pre-stage of the electric/light conversion device 31.
