<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve emission efficiency and use efficiency of light in an organic EL panel having different light emission color area patterns. <P>SOLUTION: An organic EL panel 100 is prepared by patterning organic EL elements optimum for respective monochromatic colors of three primary colors RGB into stripes, and beams 107 of monochromatic colors RGB from the panel 100 are adjusted by a liquid crystal panel 108 to obtain output beams 110 of monochromatic colors RGB.
