PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method capable of increasing a compression rate while preventing deterioration in the image quality, and to provide an image processor, an image processing program, and a recording medium. SOLUTION: The image processing method adopted by the image processor includes: a step S2 of determining color layer information from a received image; a step S3 of dividing the received image into color layer images in response to the color layer information; a step S4 of classifying the color layer image divisions into prescribed attributes; a step S6 of applying image processing appropriate to the classified attributes to the color layer images; and a step S8 of composing the color layer images to obtain a form to be restored to the received image.
