PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device using a capacitor C6 having a low breakdown voltage for a resonance circuit 17. SOLUTION: A winding N1 at one end of an inductor L2 having a center tap 16 is connected to an inverter circuit 14, and a winding N2 at the other end is connected to a high-pressure discharge lamp 15. The capacitor C6 is connected in parallel with the high-pressure discharge lamp 15 via the center tap 16 of the inductor L2. The resonance circuit 17 comprises the winding N1 of the inductor L2 and the capacitor C6. Voltage boosted according to the winding ratio of the winding N1 to the winding N2 of the inductor L2 is applied to the high-pressure discharge lamp 15 for starting. A voltage applied to the capacitor C6 is decreased as compared with that applied to the high-pressure discharge lamp 15 in starting. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
