PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the body of an electric power tool, which suppresses deterioration of the performance of a secondary battery or a battery cell, and further to provide the electric power tool. SOLUTION: The body 10A of the electric power tool comprises a motor M; an operation switch for inputting a command for rotationally driving the motor M; power receiving electrodes Sa1, Sa2 for receiving electric power; a voltage measuring section 13 for measuring the voltage of the power receiving electrodes Sa1, Sa2; and a body side control unit 12 and a pulse control section 15, which control the electric power to be supplied to the motor M according to the indication of the operation switch, and stop the motor M by gradually reducing the electric power to be supplied to the motor M when the voltage measured by the voltage measuring section 13 is lower than a predetermined threshold value. The body side control unit 12 immediately cuts off the electric power to be supplied to the motor M from the power receiving electrodes Sa1, Sa2 by means of the pulse control section 15 when the voltage measured by the voltage measuring section 13 is lower than the threshold value within a predetermined period of time after the start of the rotational drive of the motor M.
