PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polarizer which has a shape slightly changed to have preferable phase difference characteristics between polarized waves in a wide band without spoiling high frequency characteristics. SOLUTION: A sectional shape orthogonal to an axis of a tube hole 9 has a height H made longer and has a width W made shorter so that the sectional shape is a rectangle resulting from slightly deforming a square, and a corrugate 11 is provided on an inner wall surface 10 forming a shorter side of the rectangle, of the tube hole 9, and a phase of vertically polarized wave of which the displacement direction is indicated by an arrow 20 and a phase of horizontally polarized wave of which the displacement direction is indicated by an arrow 21 are changed to adjust a phase difference into prescribed one.
