PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a static object with an object detector of FM-CW (frequency modulate continuous wave) radar type. SOLUTION: The object detector comprises a transmitting means 1, a receiving means 2, a speed detecting means 10 for detecting a speed of a moving object, a frequency offset amount calculating means 5 for calculating the offset amount of the frequency based on the speed information, a frequency offset means 5 that determines a rising offset frequency spectrum by adding the frequency offset amount to the frequency spectrum of a received IF signal in the frequency rising part of a transmitted signal and determines a lowering offset frequency spectrum by subtracting the frequency offset amount from the frequency spectrum of the frequency spectrum of a received IF signal in the frequency lowering part of the transmitted signal, an adding means 6 for determining an adding frequency spectrum by adding the rising offset frequency spectrum to the lowering offset frequency spectrum, and a static object detecting means 7 for detecting the static object based on the adding frequency spectrum.
