PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic resin foamed material capable of imparting a high flame retardant property in a styrene-based resin foamed material by using mainly a blowing agent having especially high flammability and having high environmental adaptability, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This styrene-based resin foamed material obtained by heating for melting the styrene-based resin, adding the blowing agent and extrusion-foaming them is characterized by containing as the blowing agent,≥1 kind of a 3-5C saturated hydrocarbon and as necessary containing another non-halogen-based blowing agent and also containing a bromine-based flame retardant and a metal salt hydrate as the flame retardants, and the method for producing the same is also provided.
